Bullets rang in the new year in four boroughs, with nine people shot — but miraculously none killed — in the first seven hours of 2013.
The violence erupted at 2 a.m., when a 32-year-old man was shot in the stomach in the lobby of a Bronx building, cops said.
The man was found bleeding in the White Plains Rd. building near Seward Ave. in Castle Hill and was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, police said. He was expected to survive.
About the same time, a 19-year-old man was shot in the back on Irving Ave. in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, cops said.
The wounded teen went to Wyckoff Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Back in the Bronx, a 24-year-old man was shot in the buttocks after a fight broke out near Jerome Ave. and W. Fordham Road about 3 a.m., police sources said.
Emergency workers brought the wounded man to Columbia University Medical Center, where he was treated for the wound.
Gunfire popped again in Queens, where a man was shot in both legs on 10th St. in the Queensbridge Houses about 4:30 a.m., police said.
The man went to New York Hospital and was expected to survive.
About the same time, a 42-year-old man took a bullet in his stomach in Staten Island, police said.
The man was picked up by his brother at Vanderbilt Ave. and Van Duzer St. about 4:30 a.m. and taken to Richmond University Medical Center, cops said. The victim was in stable condition.
Then, about 5:10 a.m., a woman was shot in the arm in the Butler Houses in the Bronx, police said.
The woman was picked up from in front of the Webster Ave. building and taken to Lincoln Medical Center, where she was treated for the wound.
About 45 minutes later, cops were called to Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn after a man was dropped off with a bullet wound to his stomach, police said.
Sources said the victim was undergoing surgery and detectives haven’t been able to talk to him about where the shooting occurred.
The bloodshed ended, for now, about 7:05 a.m. — when two men were shot in seperate incidents in Brooklyn and the Bronx.
One man was hit in the stomach on Dumont Ave. in the Van Dyke Houses in Brownsville. He was taken to Brookdale University Hospital and expected to live.
The other man was shot in the neck at E. 138th St. and Brook Ave., police said. He was taken to Lincoln Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.
The New Year’s Day gunfire also included shots fired by police in Brooklyn, police sources said.
Officers patrolling near the Brownsville Houses responded to a call of numerous shots fired in the air on Blake Ave. near Rockaway Ave. about 1:55 a.m., the sources said.
When cops arrived, the pistol-toting 22-year-old man pointed his weapon at the officers, sources said. One cop fired a round at the gunman, but missed, sources said.
The suspect ran away, but the cops collared him nearby, sources said. No one was injured.
