Crime scene at police-involved shooting in Canarsie, Brooklyn, where Dwayne Browne, 26, was killed.
An NYPD officer shot an armed thug to death in Brooklyn shortly before 11 p.m. last night, law-enforcement sources said.
The suspect had pointed his weapon at cops who had responded to a home on Schenck Avenue in East New York in response to several 911 calls.
A source said a woman who lived at the address from which the calls came ran to the responding officers as they arrived and told them her husband was being robbed by two men in her home, the sources said.
Moments later, the man with the gun emerged from a driveway alley next to the home and aimed at the officers.
A cop fired one shot, killing the suspect, the source said.
“I heard the sound, I thought it was a tire blowing up,” said a female neighbor who did not want to reveal her name.
“This block is usually a quiet block, I’ve been here 40 years and this the first shooting on the block,” said another resident.
The incident was under investigation early this morning, and detectives were looking for a second suspect.
