The Connecticut doctor whose life was destroyed when his
wife and two daughters were killed in a horrific home invasion has revealed
that he and his new wife are expecting a baby, according to a report.
In an interview with Hartford’s WFSB-TV, Dr. William Petit,
56, and his wife, Christine Paluf, 35, said that after nearly a year of
marriage they’re expecting their bundle of joy in December.
“I’m ready,” Petit said. “Children are always your jewels,
children are the hope for the future.”
Petit’s home was targeted by the two invaders in 2007, but
what was supposed to be a quick robbery spiraled into a seven-hour horror
story.
Petit was beaten unconscious and wife of 18 years, Jennifer,
and their daughters Hayley, 17, and Michaela, 11, were murdered by fiends
Steven Hayes and Joshua Komisarjevsky, who are now on death row.
Petit became close with Palauf while she worked for the
foundation he created in memory of his family. The two married last August.
Now he’s looking forward to being a father again.
“It’s something that most people really want,” Petit said of
raising children.
“To teach them how to enjoy life and grow up to be to be
good people and help others so. I’m very pleased and very excited.”
