WESLEY HILLS - On Thursday afternoon, the Ramapo Police was
called to reports of a two car accident on Grandview Avenue in Wesley Hills.
The operator of one of the vehicles involved, exited the vehicle following the
collision, and fled west on Grandview Ave.
After the crash, police said Montaleza-Minchala got out of
the car and ran west on Grandview.
Police and the members of Chaverim, a
neighborhood watch group for the Orthodox and Hasidic Jewish community, found
him a short time later a few blocks away near Parker Boulevard, police said.
The two occupants of the other vehicle were taken to Good
Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries.
Montaleza-Minchala was arraigned in Wesley Hills justice
court and released on $5,000 bail. He is due back in court on Tuesday.
