Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein said, Thursday evening,
that there was no legal reason to bar the appointment of Police Brigadier
General Effie Bracha to head the Israel Police's Fraud Unit. Weinstein said an
extensive investigation showed there was no basis for claims of wrongdoing in
the department's investigation of Rabbi Yeshayahu Pinto.
Bracha's name came up as a senior officer involved in
allegations of being targeted for a bribe by Rabbi Pinto.
