Rockland County, NY - Town officials are expecting thousands of ultra-Orthodox Jews at a rally scheduled for Thursday night at the Rockland Boulders’ baseball stadium where ultra-Orthodox leaders will discuss the dangers involved with the use of the Internet.
LOHUD.com is reporting that the event is one in a series of “youth awareness” nights promoting responsible Internet use, and comes on the heels of a rally last year that drew 60,000 to Citi Field in Queens.
Ramapo Supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence said the community views the event as a “very positive” one, as young men ages 10 and up are being encouraged to attend, accompanied by an adult.
Tickets for the rally scheduled to take place between 7 and 10 p.m. are $10.
Vizhnitz rebbe Rabbi Mordachai Hager is listed as one of the key-note speakers at the rally.
