TV judge gives wig case the (h)air

It was a hairbrained scheme all along.

A Brooklyn couple tried to pull the wig over the eyes of "People's Court" Judge Marilyn Milian by charging a Laundromat with ruining a $3,000 hairpiece mistakenly left in a bag of dirty clothes.

Milian ruled the case a wash, declaring the human-hair rug less high-end than Heidi and Mendy Hershkowitz claimed.

"I am very disturbed," she scolded after examining the wig for the Dec. 2 episode -- now a gone-viral YouTube clip that's angered the Orthodox Jewish community.

She checked the frayed, clumped wig's tags and phoned the seller identified by Heidi Hershkowitz, 33. The salon said that it didn't even carry that brand -- and that the receipt was for a long-hair wig.

The Hershkowitzes, who got $250 for appearing on the show, did not return calls for comment.

  2. Their main problem was they did not come on the show prepared, or prepared for a court case.
They did not bring receipts, proof of purchase of original wign They did not bring proof that a wig had to be redone, as indicated by Georgie in the Georgie video. They did not give any proof and that is why Judge Milian was angry with them. They confessed that they assumed Judge Milian would rule favorably just based on the appearance of the wig. They should even have brought in a statement from Georgie regarding the original and second wig or better yet, brought her in as a material witness [although she was in France, they could have postponed until she whould be available]. Even though they probably are telling the truth, it did not look that way and all because they were not prepared in any way.
