New York - The Aronites sect of Williamsburg and Borough
Park’s Satmar Jewish community, under the leadership of Grand Rabbi Aron
Teitelbaum, announced over the weekend, that they are endorsing District
Attorney Charles “Joe” Hynes for reelection.
“District Attorney Hynes has been a great D.A. for more than
20 years and has been instrumental in making Brooklyn a safer place to live.
We
are lucky to have District Attorney Hynes serving us, and our community intends
to enthusiastically support his reelection,” said a leader in the Satmar
community, Rabbi Moishe Indig.
Hynes is running against Kenneth Thompson.
Aronites living between Williamsburg and Borough Park are
one of the largest voting blocks in Brooklyn.
The Zalmenites sect of Satmar who are also considered a
large voting block hasn’t yet made public who they will back.
