HARTFORD, Conn. — The Federal Aviation Administration is
investigating the use of a drone aircraft that was reported last weekend at the
scene of a Hartford car crash.
The use of drones for commercial purposes is prohibited by
the FAA. Violators can be subject to penalties.
The FAA said Friday that it became aware of the Feb. 1
incident on Thursday night and opened an investigation. Hartford police noted
the appearance of a small unmanned aircraft in their report on the car wreck,
WTIC-TV reported.
The FAA is working to set up guidelines for commercial use
of drones by the end of 2015.
