Brooklyn, NY - Sources are reporting that new Brooklyn DA
Kenneth Thompson has succeeded in obtaining prosecutorial jurisdiction for the
investigation and any trial stemming from the abduction and grizzly murder of
Williamsburg landlord Menachem Stark.
THE NEW YORK POST is reporting that, while reps for
Thompson’s office have yet to comment, Nassau County DA Kathleen Rice has
confirmed that Thompson and the NYPD will be heading-up the investigation any
subsequent trial will likely be held in Brooklyn.
Typically, in cases of this sort where a victim has been
abducted in one jurisdiction and the body recovered in another the
jurisdiction in which the murdered body was recovered usually has jurisdiction,
but sources are saying Brooklyn DA Thompson fought hard to have the perps in this
case tried in Brooklyn if caught.
To date, cops know that Stark was kidnapped in Brooklyn and
that his body recovered on Long Island in Nassau County, but what is unknown is
“where” Stark was actually murdered, and that may have strengthened Thompson’s
argument in fighting for jurisdiction.
