An elderly Frum man was R”L killed in a serious MVA, Friday afternoon.
The victim was a passenger in a vehicle being driven by his son, and was traveling from Exit 109 off Route 17 towards Woodridge. Sources confirm that he vehicle was “T-Boned” by a vehicle pulling out of a parking lot.
Emergency personnel responded, and began treating the man, who was still conscious and alert when they arrived on the scene.
He rapidly began losing consciousness, and was transported by MobileMedics to Catskill Regional Medical Center, where he was R”L pronounced dead.
The driver was also taken to CRMC, where he is in serious but stable condition.
Misaskim received a call about the tragedy, and quickly mobilized the Sullivan County Sheriff Patrol, along with a Catskills Hatzolah Coordinator, who all responded to the hospital.
Due to the late hour with Shabbos approaching, Undersheriff Eric Chaboty personally responded to the hospital to ensure that a Coroner would expedite the necessary paperwork.

The accident remains under investigation.
No charges had been filed as of Friday evening.
