Shakira to visit Israel next week
Successful Colombian singer and founder of Barefoot Foundation to attend Presidential Conference, hold press conference with Shimon Peres and take part in panel alongside comedian Sarah Silverman
Sarah Silverman, you're not alone: Colombian singer Shakira is expected to arrive in Israel on Tuesday for the 2011 Israeli Presidential Conference.
The popular musician, who was linked in the past to an anti-Israel statement, is putting an end to the rumors on her relations with the Jewish state and will visit the country as the founder and representative of the Barefoot Foundation, a US non-profit, non-governmental organization devoted to ensuring that every child can exercise his or her basic right to a quality education.
Ynet has learned that Shakira will arrive in Israel for only one day. It's unclear whether she will be accompanied by her boyfriend, footballer Gerard Pique.
The singer will hold a joint press conference with President Shimon Peres and will take part in a panel alongside American comedian Sarah Silverman.
The PR agency representing the Israeli Presidential Conference confirmed the report.
