The feds arrested an NYPD detective and two city firefighters in connection with an illegal gambling ring on Staten Island Thursday.
The uniformed workers were among 14 perps rounded up by the FBI and investigators from the Police Department's Internal Affairs Bureau.
Detective Richard Palase, who is assigned to the Brooklyn court section, is charged with conspiracy to operate an illegal card games at 2298 Arthur Kill Road, along with firefighter Michael Bergen.
Also arrested were retired NYPD cop Ralph Mastrantonio and Bergen's father, James, who is also retired from the police force.
A second firefighter, Gerald Parsons, is charged with working as a dealer at card games held at a parlor on Victory Blvd., according to the indictment unsealed in Brooklyn Federal Court.
Joseph (The Undertaker) Fumando, a Staten Island funeral director, was also arrested in the sweep.
Customers were sent text messages inviting them to gamble at the illegal spots, court papers state. The gambling does not appear to be related to organized crime.
