Brooklyn, NY - A former Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York slamed prosecutors on Zev Brenner’s Talkine program last night for arresting a California woman in the middle of her son’s wedding last week in New York.
Avi Moskowitz, partner at the midtown Manhattan law firm of Moskowitz, Book and Walsh and a former prosector blasted the prosecution for their actions which he called “the worst of abuse of discretion I have ever seen.” The woman who was being scrutinized by the IRS as an offshoot of the investigation of the Spinka case was taken away by authorities right after the chupah in a move that Moskowitz claims was clearly meant to embarrass her in front of her family and friends.
Moskowitz likened prosecutors to “legal terrorists” saying “they have an enormous power to destroy people.”
