Short Hills, NJ - Police have found the SUV taken in a
carjacking and shooting death of a man who had finished holiday shopping with
his wife at an upscale mall in northern New Jersey.
Newark Police Director Samuel DeMaio says police recovered
the silver Range Rover in the southern part of city Monday.
Authorities are still looking for two men who confronted the
couple Sunday night in a parking deck at the Mall of Short Hills, about eight
miles from Newark.
Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray says the
husband, a 30-year-old Hudson County resident, was shot in the head before the
men took off in the vehicle. The man’s wife was not wounded.
The man was pronounced dead at a hospital. His name has not
been released.
