'You're gonna hear about the evil I did': Student's Facebook suicide note before shooting school teachers and then himself

A student who opened fire at an Omaha high school yesterday, shooting the principal and assistant principal before fatally shooting himself, left a suicide note on his Facebook page.

The student, identified as 17-year-old Robert Butler Jr, was found dead in car about a mile away from the school, according to Omaha police chief Alex Hayes said.

Butler, a son of an Omaha police detective, shot Millard South High School Principal Curtis Case and Vice Principal Vicki Kaspar.

Ms Kaspar, who suffered multiple bullet wounds, died late last night from her injuries.

Mr Case was in serious but stable condition.

Butler left an expletive-laden message on his Facebook page, which appeared to be a suicide note.

The message read: 'Everybody that used to know me, I'm sorry but Omaha changed me and f***ed me up. And the school I attend is even worse... you're gonna here about the evil s*** I did but that f***ing school drove me to this.

I want you guys to remember me for who I was before this. I greatly affected the lives of the families ruined but I'm sorry. Goodbye.'

A local source said that Butler's rampage may have stemmed from him being suspended from the school Wednesday for allegedly driving his vehicle in the football field causing to tear it up, a source reported.

Laura Olson, a 16-year-old student at the school, told Associated Press she was just beginning lunch when a school administrator came into the cafeteria screaming.

She said: 'He was yelling, "Get in the kitchen. Get in the kitchen".

'He was waving his arms. You knew something was wrong and it wasn't a drill.'

Miss Olson, a junior at Millard, estimated that she'd been rushed into the kitchen with several dozen students around 12.45pm.

Chief Hayes said police first received reports of the shooting around 12.50pm.

The school was on lockdown after the shooting, but by 3pm, students were being released in groups from the school. Parents were allowed to pick them up at a nearby church

The high school sits on the west side of Omaha, within city limits, and has about 2,100 students.

'We need prayers and we need hugs,' Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle said.

Millard Schools Superintendent Keith Lutz said Principal Case had been at the school for six years.

Vice Principal Kaspar was a veteran administrator at the school.
