Monsey - 2 Charged in Ramapo Alcohol Sales Sting

RAMAPO — Town police on Monday charged two local store clerks with violating the state’s alcoholic beverage control laws.

Keith Reardon, 61, of Mahwah, N.J., a clerk at Sloatsburg Wine and Spirits, and Stephen T. Vinci Jr., 21, of Sloatsburg, a clerk at Hayward’s Deli, are both accused of selling alcohol to an undercover agent younger than 21, police said.

Sloatsburg Wine and Spirits and Hayward’s Deli, found in Sloatsburg at 61 Orange Turnpike and 59 Orange Turnpike, respectively, were two of more than a dozen businesses targeted Monday during a joint operation between Ramapo police and the Rockland County Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children. 

Similar operations are conducted throughout the year and across Rockland County.

Police said both Reardon and Vinci were released without bail. Each is to appear in Sloatsburg Village Court at 5 p.m. Dec. 18.

• Citgo, 74 Route 59, Monsey

• Cresthill Wine and Liquor, 285 N. Main St., Spring Valley

• Super Seven, 75 Orange Turnpike, Sloatsburg

• JTZ Grab and Go, 55 Orange Turnpike, Sloatsburg

• Gold Path Liquor, 45 Route 59, Monsey

• Shell, 83 Route 59, Monsey

• Rockland Kosher, 27 Orchard St., Monsey

• Iryna Liquors, 298 N. Main St., Spring Valley
