A 12-year-old boy was fighting for his life after being hit
by a car while crossing a street in Brooklyn Tuesday, authorities said.
The boy was running against the light on Bedford Avenue near
Avenue M in Midwood at around 7:20 p.m. when a northbound white Ford Sierra hit
him, sources said.
“He got hit bad,” a witness said. “[The driver] was going
fast, he skidded . . . and there was a loud bang.”
The driver was given summonses for speeding, cops said.
A family friend said the victim’s twin brother was sent out
to look for his sibling and came upon the tragedy.
Flatbush Hatzolah transported the 12-year-old child to Kings
Highway Trauma Center, where he is listed in critical condition R”L.
