An elderly Brooklyn boutique owner was fatally shot in the head in his store Friday night, officials and witnesses said, and sources noted the killing may be linked to two others.
Cops are investigating the possibility the killer in Friday’s slaying is the same person who murdered two borough store owners over the summer, sources said.
The victim, who police said was 78 but whose name was not immediately released, was at She She Inc. on Flatbush Ave. at Linden Blvd. in Flatbush when he was shot with a .22-caliber gun, sources said.
Police were called at 7:19 p.m., sources said. The shopowner was shot behind the counter, then dragged about 10 feet toward the back of he store. The killer had tossed clothing over his body.
“He was a nice guy. He just ran his business,” said Richard Vinson, 63, who has lived next-door to She She for four years. “It's a shame. People have no regard for human life.”
It was not immediately clear if the gunman robbed the store.
Police sources described the killer as careful and methodical, noting the absence of store surveillance cameras.
“He had to be casing the store out. We’re looking for video everywhere,” a police source said.
On July 6, Valentino Fashion Inc. boss Mohammed Gebeli, 65, was killed in his Bay Ridge store. Then, on Aug. 2, Amazing 99 Cent Deals owner Isaac Kadare, 59, was killed in his Bensonhurst shop.
In both slayings, the killer used a .22-caliber weapon, similar shooting techniques, and no surveillance cameras were present.
There have been no arrests in either case.
