BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – A passionate plea from the parents of missing IU co-ed Lauren Spierer as the six-month anniversary of her disappearance approaches.
Once again they are hoping that someone with information will come forward.
Spierer’s mother Charlene says, “I have to only hope that we find Lauren and the answer to my prayers would be to find Lauren alive and that we could take her home and help her move on from this horrible time in her life. At the very least, we want to find Lauren and that's what we are hopefully desperate for to Lauren and take her home."
A vigil for Lauren is being planned for Saturday night.
In late September A concert called "Shine for Lauren," took place in Bloomington to raise awareness about the case.
The 20-year-old New York native was last seen walking near her off-campus apartment on June third.
In August search crews began searching the Sycamore Ridge Landfill in Terre Haute, Ind.
An authority at the scene says bags are being searched by hand and that it will be a slow, methodical process.
Extensive searches around Bloomington have turned up no sign of her.
The latest evidence in the case shows that Spierer was so incapacitated when she left her apartment building the morning she went missing that she stumbled out of her elevator, fell against a wall and had to be helped to her feet by a male friend who led her out of the building.
The evidence contradicts statements by friend Corey Rossman's lawyer, who said Spierer helped his client walk home June 3 after he was punched in the face and suffered memory loss.
According to lawyers for Rossman and his roommate, Mike Beth, she stopped in their apartment, then left after Beth put Rossman to bed.
Neighbor Jay Rosenbaum, a friend of theirs, said Spierer then visited his place. He told friends that he urged her to sleep over but let her leave after she showed she could walk without stumbling. He told police he saw her rounding a corner toward home about 4:15 a.m. That was the last reported sighting of her.
Police have said Spierer was intoxicated that morning. After going to Kilroy's Sports Bar with Rossman, where she left her cellphone and shoes, they returned to her apartment building.
Kilroy's Sports Bar, the bar where Spierer was drinking the night she disappeared, is a hot spot for underage drinking in Bloomington and they've got the fake ID and underage drinking citations to prove it. According to a new report, Kilroy's has been cited for more than 60% of the fake ID and underage drinking citations in Bloomington.
Bloomington Police say they intend to focus more of their resources on the investigation into the disappearance of Spierer.
Lauren's mother Charlene Spierer says, “Perhaps it was a terrible accident that happened, and we can deal with that. What we can't deal with is what we don't know."
During week two Bloomington Police acknowledged that they had received information that college student Lauren Spierer may have overdosed on cocaine and that the student or students who were with her panicked and disposed of her body.
Detectives have not ruled out the possibility that the rumor may be true but police add that any information is critical and they have to remain open-minded.
The truck seen on surveillance tape around the time of her disappearance has been cleared in the investigation, and police have interviewed numerous people in connection with the case.
Lauren's mom expressed disappointment that only one of her daughter's friends had come forward with any information.
A bag of clothing in a dumpster outside Spierer's apartment building was also uncovered last week.

The night of Spierer’s disappearance she had worn a white, V-neck shirt with sleeves to her elbows. The shirt was scooped in the bottom at the front and back and had bell or butterfly sleeves. And she was also wearing black leggings with silver zippers at the ankles.
Indiana University plans to cover a big portion of the costs for the search to find missing student Lauren Spierer.
Reports say the school has pledged $50,000 for the search effort.
Spierer's parents refuse to give up, Lauren's mother said she has two things she wants to accomplish.
"My first thing is to say to the person that has Lauren or that has harmed Lauren: Shame on you. Shame on you. In relationship to that, the person that knows this person that's not coming forward with this information, I beg you to come forward," Charlene Spierer says.
The second thing she wanted to accomplish is to tell Lauren she loves her with all her heart and soul.
"Anything small could be big so speak up and contact the Bloomington Police Hotline with any information you have regarding Lauren," said Lauren Spierer's Father Robert Spierer.
The 20-year-old was last seen June third, around 4:30 a.m. Friday morning, walking barefoot near the intersection of College Avenue and 11th Street in Bloomington, on the way to her apartment building located on 8th.
Spierer is described as white, 4'11, slender build, blue eyes, and blonde hair longer than shoulder length. She had on a white tank top with a loose light-colored button shirt over it, and black stretch pants when she disappeared. She was not wearing any shoes.
Police say she did not arrive at her apartment and video footage does not show her entering the building.
Police officers have searched the area several times including a search with a police K-9, and spoken with businesses, workers, and residents in the area. Saturday police distributed a flyer with Lauren's picture.
Police believe she is a victim of foul play.
However, Lauren's mother still believes her daughter is alive.
"To that one person, the one person that has the answer to this mystery and this puzzle, bring Lauren back. Let us know where she is, take her to a hospital, take her... let us have her back. I am pleading with that one person because there is one person there that knows," Lauren's Mother Charlene Spierer.

Lauren's apartment complex is offering $10,000 dollars.
Indianapolis Colts Owner Jim Irsay is offering $10,000 dollars.
Lauren's parents, Robert & Charlene Spierer are offering $100,000 dollars for their daughter's safe return.
