Sicko who raped woman in Soho apartment building captured on surveillance camera

Cops released a surveillance-camera image Thursday of a sicko who raped a woman in the lobby of her Greenwich Village apartment building last week.

The video shows the suspect, a black man wearing a dark jacket and a gray scarf, walking out of a Duane Reade pharmacy on Broadway in Manhattan about 4:30 a.m. Friday, police said.

He bought beer at the pharmacy, cop sources said. He and the 33-year-old woman drank the brews and then made their way back to her apartment building on Thompson St., the sources said.

It was not clear how they met. When they arrived at her building, the suspect asked her if they could go up to her apartment. She declined, but the maniac raped her in the lobby of the building, the sources said.

The victim was treated at a local hospital and later released, police said.

The suspect has a purple-colored birthmark on his face. Police ask anyone with information on the attacker to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. Tipsters can also text 274637 and then enter TIP577.
