Rabbi Eliezer Berland, who left Israel against a backdrop of
allegations of sexual offenses, may mark next month's Purim holiday in
Johannesburg, South Africa.
The Breslov follower lived in Morocco but was
banished by royal decree after the king read of the allegations in Israel.
Rabbi Berland reportedly went from Morocco to Zimbabwe or
South Africa so as to avoid extradition to Israel. He will reportedly meet with
a handful of followers in Johanessburg to avoid problems in the place he now
calls home.
