NEW YORK - One firefighter was injured battling a house fire in the Midwood section of Brooklyn.
The fire broke out in the home on East 27th Street just before 10 a.m.
This building has a synagogue on the first floor. The rabbi lives on the upper floor.
Heavy flames shot through the roof.
One firefighter was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but the rabbi believed a candle could be the cause.
Five torahs were taken out of the structure.
