Dramatic surveillance video shows a 20-year-old man opening fire in broad daylight at a Brooklyn intersection, police said Wednesday.
The suspect, Kevon Ferrell, fled the scene and tossed away the gun, but officers who witnessed the Tuesday afternoon gunplay recovered the weapon and arrested him.
“We have video showing the individual was shooting into a vehicle," Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said. "Officers did hear the shots and responded."
The 2:20 p.m. shooting occurred at Bedford Ave. and Crown St. in Crown Heights, with Ferrell firing across the street at someone in a car, police said.
Ferrell then ran down Carroll St. and tossed his .380-caliber handgun to the ground, police said.
He was grabbed moments later and charged with gun possession, reckless endangerment and attempted assault.
