Crown Heights - Shomrim Volunteer’s Car Torched

Crown Heights [CHI] — A member of the Crown Heights Shomrim volunteer patrol woke up this morning to find that his car had been torched. A burning substance had been tossed between the windshield and the hood, incapacitating the car and causing substantive exterior damage.

The volunteer had parked his car near his apartment at 3:00am, after returning home from a response to a domestic dispute. The incident occurred sometime between then and 6:00am, when he got up for work.

It is as of yet unclear if the torching was connected to the aforementioned domestic dispute, or a random act of vandalism.

The police are investigating.
