'MK Zoabi met with Hamas officials'

A recent IDF raid on Hamas offices in the West Bank city of Tulkarem yielded various intelligence assets as well as a photo of a familiar political figure – MK Hanin Zoabi (Balad).

The photo, recovered in a raid held in December, depicts a smiling Zoabi alongside four known Hamas members, including Aziz Dwaik, the movement's most senior representative in the West Bank and Mariam Saleh, the former minister of women's affairs in Hamas government in Gaza.

Both Dwaik and Saleh have served time in Israeli prisons for alleged involvement in a terror organization.

The meeting took place shortly after Dwaik was released from prison.

Zoabi confirmed that she had met with Dwaik and Saleh in December: "The military shouldn’t be conducting these raids, but rather put an end to the occupation," she said Thursday.

"About 20 people took part in that meeting and the Shin Bet gave ne no trouble about it. Why should they? The entire world recognizes Hamas now and I think it's time Israel did so as well. We don't consider Hamas to be a terror organization," she said.

Meanwhile, 10 Islamic Jihad operatives were indicted for alleged involvement in acts of terror on Thursday.

The indictments, which were filed with the Salem Military Court, say that the men were members of the regional Islamic Jihad headquarters and were planning to carry out terror attacks against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians.

The National Union party released a statement condemning Zoabi and urging the Knesset the revoke her parliamentary immunity.

"Zoabi and Tibi both prove that they do not belong in the Knesset but in jail – where all traitors to the State of Israel belong. We expect the Attorney General's Office to file charges of treason and aiding a terror group against her," the statement said.

MK Uri Ariel (National Union) added that Zoabi's meeting with Hamas officials was a "first-class scandal" adding: "She is a traitor and should be tried as such. The Knesset speaker must order her immunity revoked without delay."
