Police on Monday arrested a haredi man in his 30s from Jerusalem who is suspected of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old homeless girl in the bathroom of a health clinic.
According to the indictment, the man met the girl on the street and convinced her to come to the health clinic. Once inside, he brought her to the bathroom and sexually assaulted her, then gave her two shekels and left her on the street.
The girl complained to a social worker from the organization where she is staying, who notified police.
The man came before the Jerusalem Magistrates Court to extend his detention on Monday afternoon by three days.
