The cavalcade of cars escorting the princess of Thailand on a visit to Israel was caught in a car accident in Jerusalem Monday. The princess was sent to Hadassah Hospital and admitted for tests. The police have reported that the cars were lightly damaged.
The Thai princess, Professor Chulabhorn Mahidol, is visiting Israel for the sixth time. Her current visit has involved scientific cooperation with Israeli research institutions.
Mahidol visited Rambam Medical Center in Haifa on Sunday, accompanied by her entourage. Officials of the Thai Embassy to Israel, Israeli Foreign Ministry officials, and the Mayor of Haifa were also present.
An agreement of cooperation was signed at the end of the visit between Rambam Hospital and Chulabhorn Research Institute, the main hospital in Thailand for cancer treatments.

בפתח הפגישה עם הנשיא, אמרה הנסיכה, בת ה-54 כי "בלבי אני מרגישה חצי ישראלית. אני חושבת כמו ישראלית. ביקרתי כאן לראשונה בשנות השבעים ומאז אני מחפשת כל הזדמנות לשוב לכאן."
