Lakewood, NJ - School Bus Crash Seriously Injures 2

Authorities say at least two people were seriously injured when a school bus with no children aboard collided with a car in Lakewood.

The bus was empty except for the driver when the crash occurred shortly before 5 p.m. today.

The bus flipped onto its right side after the collision. The car was heavily damaged.

Ocean County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Mike Mohel says two people were taken to a hospital trauma center.

The victim that was trapped under the bus has been removed and is en-route to the landing zone. The car had two occupants (reportedly a chosson and kallah), who were both cut out of their car by heavy extrication equipment. The driver is stable and is complaining of neck and back pain, and the woman passenger is unconscious. She is en-route with Lakewood Hatzolah Paramedics to the landing zone as well.

החתן והכלה נפצעו ונלכדו ברכב, צוותי ההצלה והכיבוי עמלו זמן רב לחלצם תוך כדי טיפול רפואי. הנערה חולצה כשהיא מחוסרת הכרה ובמצב קשה מאוד, החתן חולץ עם חבלות קלות.

הכלה הצעירה ורוכבת האופניים פונו במצב קשה באמצעות מטוס לחדר טרואמה בבית החולים Jersey Shore.

Lakewood, NJ - Two crash victims remained in critical condition Tuesday after being injured in a traffic accident involving a car striking a school bus that tipped onto its side, pinning a girl on her bicycle.

Authorities identified the girl as Fabiola Moralez, 16. She and a passenger in the car, Sarah Brisk, 22, were reported in critical condition Tuesday at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, as a result of injuries they suffered Monday.

The bus from Congregation Rachmstrvka had no children aboard when it was struck at the center on the driver’s side by the car at Monmouth Avenue and East County Line Road about 5 p.m. Monday. police said.

The car was driven by Simon Benedict, 22, of Zurich, Switzerland.

The driver of the school bus, Chaim Adler, 27, here, was able to climb out the window of the overturned bus.

The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department and Prosecutor’s Office assisted in the investigation. Haztolah First Aid and Paramedics, Lakewood EMS, Lakewood Fire Department, State Police and MONOC helicopters assisted at the scene.
