More than 200 billboard ads began going up Thursday across Los Angeles seeking information on the two male assailants who severely beat San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow in the Dodger Stadium parking lot following the opening-day game.
Lamar Advertising is installing the billboard ads, with the police sketches of Stow's two attackers, in two phases. About 200 are to be installed in the coming days, with 100 more before the end of the month to try to aid the Los Angeles Police Department's investigation into the beating that left the father of two with brain damage and in a coma.
The two suspects, yelling expletives, knocked Stow to the ground and then repeatedly kicked and hit him in the upper body and head, leaving him with a severely fractured skull and damage to his frontal lobe, police said.
The billboard ads were developed with the help of the LAPD. The reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects has risen to $175,000. Detectives have received hundreds of calls with pieces of information but have yet to find the two assailants.
The first suspect is described as a stocky male Latino, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-10, and 170 pounds. He has a shaved head, mustache and goatee, and possibly tattoos on his neck. He also has a mole on the left side of his cheek. The second suspect is described as a Latino or white male. He is about 6-foot-1, with short hair and hazel eyes. He may have tattoos on his shoulder.
A third suspect, a female, is being sought for driving the men away from the scene in a car carrying a boy about 10 years old.
Det. P.J. Morris said as many as 100 people witnessed the attack, and that officials are asking anyone with information to come forward by calling the LAPD at (877) LAPD-24-7 or (877) 527-3247.
