Brooklyn Apartment Blaze Injures 33
NEW YORK -- Thirty-three people, including nine firefighters, were injured Sunday morning in a fire at a Brooklyn apartment building, NY1.com reported.
Firefighters were called to the blaze at a four-story building in Brooklyn's Sunset Park neighborhood around 5:15am local time. They spent more than two hours getting the fire under control.
Four of the people injured were in critical condition. Four others were in serious condition. There were no fatalities.
"The units on the scene did an outstanding job getting everybody out," New York Fire Department Deputy Chief Richard Howe said. "It was a good day for the Fire Department helping people."
Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
