Body of missing IDF soldier found in Ben Shemen forest

Corporal Bogdan Shirokov, a Ramat Gan resident, was missing for a week after he was last seen boarding a bus at the Tel Aviv Central Bus Station.

The body of Israel Defense Forces soldier Corporal Bogdan (Dan) Shirokov, who has been missing for a week, was found in Ben Shemen forest on Monday morning.

Shirokov, a Ramat Gan resident, last made contact with his family last Monday.

The soldier was last seen wearing his uniform at the Tel Aviv Central Bus Station when he boarded the 411 'Superbus' bus heading to Beit Shemesh. Since then there has been no trace of Shirokov.

Investigations were conducted during the week by the police, military police and EITAN unit for detecting missing soldiers.

Shirkov's family has been notified and the police opened an investigation into the cause of his death
