A Burger King employee drops the F-bomb on a receipt after drive thru customer Francisco Perez wanted the burger cut in two pieces so that he could share half with his mother. KTXL says this is a case of -- receipt rage.

FRANCISCO: “I showed the manager, the guy at the window, he just kinda laughed and he gave me my receipt back and I took off. As a f--- you burger. He gave me a f--- you burger. Okay, whatever. REPORTER: We couldn’t believe our eyes either. The malicious message made its way onto the receipt not once but twice.”

Now, let’s revisit for a second -- what a receipt is for -- courtesy -- KCRA.

“What are the receipts normally supposed to say here? MANAGER: It supposed to say the customers name or the order number. REPORTER: It’s not supposed to say F.U.? MANAGER: No sir. REPORTER: When went through the drive-thru as well, to see what our receipt would look like. No profanity. Just a regular receipt. This is what a regular receipt is supposed to look like.

KNTV says the story went national causing BK corporate to step-in issuing this statement.

"Burger King Corp. (BKC) and the franchisee that owns and operates this restaurant deeply regret that this incident occurred. The franchisee has taken immediate corrective action and both the manager and employee are being terminated. The franchisee will be reaching out to the guest directly.

Customers interviewed by KTVU seem divided on whether termination was necessary. A better idea? Maybe they should just have to put 25 cents in the cuss bucket.

“Customers at the Burger King today were split on whether the worker’s punishment fits the crime. CUSTOMER: Just a little time off to think about what he did. Probably not fired, because I’m sure he’s not going to do it again. CUSTOMER 2: I think they do a good job. I really do. Because anybody that writes something like that doesn’t deserve to work here.

So what do you think? Have it your way? Or -- Whoa -- now THAT’s a WHOPPER.
