Iranian Businessman Claims Canada Gave Mossad Agent New Passport

A Canadian businessman claims Canada has secretly supplied a Mossad agent living in the country with a new identity and passport

  

The new passport, he claims in a report published by the Toronto Sun, was given to the Israeli spy in wake of their alleged participation in the 2010 plot to kill senior Hamas official Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in a Dubai hotel.

The Canadian-Iranian businessman, Arian Azarbar, which the Sun described as " mysterious" made the far-reaching claims in an exclusive interview with Canadian news agency QMI, which owns the Sun.

In the report, Azarbar claimed he learned about the top secret operation to give the alleged Israeli spy a new passport while he was in relationship with Trina Kennedy, a senior national security investigator at Passport Canada, part of Canada's Citizenship and Immigration Ministry.

"The Canadian government has said we had nothing to do with this, but it is a lie," Azarbar reportedly said. "The girl who was in charge of that file at Passport Canada, with whom I had a relationship, she told me about it."

Azarbar claims Kennedy confided details of the top secret identity switch after the two had been out for a night of drinks and food. He claimed that Kennedy later asked him to forget what she had told him, the Toronto Sun claimed.

"How come nobody is talking about that?" Azarbar said of the alleged cover-op.

According to the Sun, Azarbar has been accused in the past of being a possible spy for Iran, allegations he vehemently denied. According to the sun, Montreal police documents point to has as being a possible Iranian spy.

Azarbar also provided a name and location where the alleged Mossad agent lived in Canada, but QMI Agency has decided to not to publish the information so as not endanger their personal safety.

A spokesman for Citizenship and Immigration Ministry refused to answer questions about the Iranian's allegations.

However, according to the Sun, QMI Agency reported Friday that the Chris Alexander, Canada's Citizenship and Immigration Minister, ordered a probe of the incident and has reportedly relived Kennedy of her duties in wake of the allegations.

According to the same report, she has also been blocked from all federal computers as well.

In January 2010, senior Hamas official Mahmoud al-Mabhouh was killed by a team of professional killers in a Dubai hotel.

Dubai police later claimed that team from the Mossad carried out the killing, entering the emirate with forged passports. It showed hotel video surveillance footage of the agents entering the hotel. Israel denies the allegations and claims there is no evidence linking the Mossad to Mabhouh's killing.
