Chaim Masri, Brooklyn Pilot Crashes Small Plane at NJ Airport

A Brooklyn pilot crashed a small plane while trying to land at a New Jersey airport Monday, police say.

The single-engine Cesna Model 172 airplane touched down at the Essex County Airport in Fairfield just before 7 p.m., then suddenly veered off the runway to the left, striking a snow bank and then overturning, police said.

The plane was piloted by Chaim Masri, 46, of Brooklyn, according to authorities. Masri declined medical attention for a minor injury to the leg.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
