Yam Levy, Israeli woman, 23, missing in Germany

A 23-year-old Israeli woman from central Israel has been missing in Germany for more than five days.

Yam Levy, from the Modiin area, embarked on a trip to southern Germany in early September.

After a week in Munich she headed to Immenstadt, a Bavarian town near the German Alps and Swiss border, and has been missing ever since.

"She did not return to her hostel on Tuesday and did not contact her family," one of her friends said. "We haven't heard from her since. She booked her hotels from Israel, it's not like her to be out of touch for so long."

The friend added that Yam's last activity on her Whatsapp application was on September 10. "She used a local SIM card to go online but it hasn't been used since. According to the people from the hostel, she was last seen hanging out with two young men and a German girl."

Yam's parents flew to Germany on Friday before Yom Kippur to search for their daughter. Israel's consul and local police in Immenstadt joined the efforts. Local media have also reported on the missing girl.

The family has opened a Facebook page hoping to reach anyone with information on her whereabouts or clues as to where she might have gone.
