NYPD looking for woman who texted she was 'scared'

NEW YORK  - NYPD are looking for a Brooklyn woman who disappeared shortly after texting her mother that she was "scared."

Her mother said Dana Lauren Bonanno sent the disturbing text around 11 p.m. on July 22. Police declared her as missing on Saturday.

Donna O'Connor told police she received no other text from her 33-year-old daughter explaining why she was scared.

Bonanno, who attended Carmel High School in Putnam County, was living in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn.

The Journal News says she was part of Supporting Our Underground Properly, a group that promotes music events throughout the city.

Friends and family set up a Facebook page to post updates as the search continues.
