Sheldon Silver Makes $350K-$450K From Outside Law Firm

New York - More extensive filings from New York state legislators than ever before have been publicly posted online and show powerful Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver earned $350,000 to $450,000 last year from his private law practice.

Silver, the longtime leader of the Assembly’s Democratic majority, is listed as “of counsel” to the Weitz & Luxenberg law firm in Manhattan.

The disclosures filed by all 63 sitting state Senators and 148 members of the Assembly for the first time show publicly the value of their outside financial interests.

Forms filed by other state officials in policy positions are available by request from the Joint Commission on Public Ethics under a law passed two years ago.

The governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and comptroller’s disclosures were posted
