Brooklyn, NY - The road to a seventh term as the Brooklyn
district attorney just got a little more difficult for Charles J. Hynes.
Abe George, a former Manhattan prosecutor, announced on
Thursday that he was dropping out of the race.
He said he would instead throw
his support behind another Democratic challenger, Kenneth P. Thompson, a
prominent lawyer in private practice, ensuring a one-on-one matchup with the
incumbent.
