Atlantic City Casino: Thieves Lift $500K in Jewelry

Authorities are looking for several suspects after half a million dollars in jewelry was stolen in a smash-and-grab at a store in the Borgata Hotel amid the Atlantic City casino's 10th anniversary celebration, police said.
Atlantic City Police Sgt. Monica McMenamin says a call was received from Borgata security at about 8:45 p.m. Monday reporting a theft in a jewelry store.

Police say three men fled the store on foot before taking off in a dark colored vehicle.

Authorities released several images of the suspects captured on security cameras.

The Borgata opened July 2, 2003, as the first new casino in the resort town in 13 years. It has 11 retail shops, 2,000 guest rooms and suites, nearly 200 gambling tables and more than 3,400 slot machines.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 609-347-5766 or Crime Stoppers at 609-652-1234.
