Three men were shot and wounded in Brooklyn Sunday afternoon
and shots were also fired at police officers who were responding to the scene,
according to officials and witnesses.
Police say the officers were not hurt and did not return
fire.
The triple shooting occurred at around 3:30 p.m. on Bedford
Avenue and Lenox Road in Prospect Lefferts Gardens.
Mohammed Alcher said he saw two officers walk into the
dangerous gun battle.
"I saw the two female cops walking up before I heard
six loud gunshots," said Alcher.
It's unclear how many people were firing weapons.
The three wounded men were taken to Kings County Hospital,
where they were listed in serious but stable condition.
Witnesses say police were combing the neighborhood looking
for a possible gunman.
