Jerusalem - Bill To Put Women In Committee To Elect Rabbinical Judges Passes

Jerusalem - A bill proposal to add women to the committee that appoints judges to c courts passed the second and third reading at the Knesset at 4 a.m. on Tuesday.

The bill, proposed by MKs Shuli Muallem (Bayit Yehudi), Aliza Lavie (Yesh Atid) and MK Zehava Gal-On (Meretz) would require the committee to have at least four women.

“The new bill fixes the existing twisted reality, in which only men decide on issues that affects mainly women’s lives,” Gal-On said.
