Thai police hunt for Israeli murder suspect

Thai police are conducting a widespread manhunt for dual Israeli-Hungarian national Moshe David, who is suspected of killing a Hungarian businessman, the Bangkok Post reported Tuesday.

According to the report, David, 38, killed his business partner, 47-year-old Peter Rice, and hid the body in a rubber tree plantation.

David's wife was questioned by the police as well. They suspect she might have been an accessory to the act.

Rice was discovered last Thursday. According to the report, David – who recently had a falling out with his business partner – was the immediate suspect.

The Phuket Gazette reported the Rice filed a police complaint against David, citing he feared for his life.

The Hungarian Embassy in Thailand also expressed concern for Rice's fate, after it has become aware of the police complaint and of his disappearance.

According to the police, the two were at odds over Rice forging David's signature on papers pertaining to a $473,000 land sale.

A warrant for David's arrest was issued on Sunday. The police have since questioned his immediate family, who lives in Ko Samui.

His wife has reportedly confirmed that the two had a falling out, but insisted she had not seen him since Friday.

David's car was later found abandoned in Ko Samui, carrying fake license plates.
