NY - Man pushed in front of subway train

A 58-year-old man died after he was pushed or fell in front of a train in Manhattan's Times Square on Monday afternoon after an apparent argument.

The FDNY says it happened at the 7th Ave. and 49th St. Station at about 12:30 p.m.

"People were in shock and scared," one witness said at the scene.

The busy station is just a block away from Radio City Music Hall.

The unidentified man was hit by a southbound N or Q-train. He was rushed to St. Luke's - Roosevelt Hospital but it was too late.

Witnesses say the victim was pushed by a man who ran away after the incident. The NYPD said it appeared to start with a dispute between the too men and it was unclear if the man fell or was pushed.

They say they are looking for the second man in the incident. He is described as a Black man in his 20s with short dreadlocks and wearing a white T-shirt and black beanie hat.

Because of the incident, there was no N train service in both directions between the Queensboro Plaza Station and the Atlantic Avenue-Barclay Center Station.

There was no Q train service in both directions between the Queensboro Plaza Station and the Times Square-42 Street Station. There was also no R train service in both directions between the 71 Avenue-Forest Hills Station and the Whitehall Street Station.
