Small plane crashes on I-94 in Wisconsin

RACINE COUNTY, Wisconsin— A twin engine skydiving airplane made an abrupt landing on Southbound I-94 in Racine County, Wisconsin Monday night. Even though the incident happened about 6:30 in the evening, no cars traveling on the interstate were hit.

Racine County Sheriff's Department tells WGN the two people on board survived when their plane overshot a small airstrip a few hundred feet away from the interstate, rolling over a frontage road and onto I-94 between Highways 11 and 20.

The male pilot refused medical treatment and the female passenger suffered minor injuries. Both were employees of Skydive Midwest.

FAA records show that the plane is a fixed-wing multi-engine B90 model, registered to Direct Action Aviation LLC out of Reno, Nev. Its tail number is N821DA.
