Monroe - Armed robbery of Dunkin Donuts

The New York State Police is investigating an armed robbery at an upstate Dunkin Donuts.

It happened just after 11 p.m. on Tuesday at the store on State Route 17 in Monroe.

Police say that a man wearing a black bandana over his face and dark sunglasses walked into the rear of the store as the lone employee was preparing to close.

The man pointed a brown paper bag at the employee and demanded money from the register.

Police say the suspect said he wouldn't shoot the employee if he gave him the cash. The robber took the money and ran out of the back of the store.

It's unclear how much money he took.

Police say the suspect is white, 5'9" with short dark hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt with a while chain link design and brown sweat pants.

Anyone having information is asked to contact the New York State Police in Monroe at: (845) 782-8311.
