A fire of unknown origin caused extensive damage, Saturday afternoon, to the "Etz Chayim" synagogue on Hanevi'im Street in Kiryat Ono, east of Tel Aviv.
Firefighters arrived at the scene within minutes of the alarm, but heavy smoke was already in evidence and the roof had collapsed.
