CHANA TAUB: My Husband Simon is Out to get me

Simon and Chana Taub's “War of the Roses”

Tear down this wall!

That’s the battle cry of “War of the Roses” divorcée Chana Taub, who went to court last week with a bizarre complaint: Someone in the dead of night has been pounding on the infamous partition built in 2006 to divide the Brooklyn home between bitter spouses.

Taub claims her ex-hubby, Simon, moved out of the 49th Street home in Borough Park but not before welcoming a mysterious Harvey Wallbanger whose late-night knocking on the wall is intended to drive her nuts.

Simon Taub “merely uses the house as a base of operations to harass and annoy my client,” her lawyer, Laurence Greenberg, said in court while asking for an order of protection that would bar him from the premises.

He claimed Simon “installed” a person to pound on the wall and set off the alarm system.

It’s the latest charge in one of New York’s most notorious divorce cases, an epic seven-year battle.

Chana Taub told The Post that there are actually two young men living on her husband’s side of the house.

They’re bums, 18 or 19 years old,” she said. “He probably told them to bang on the wall. So they keep banging on it. It is scary.”

The pounding usually comes on Fridays between 8 p.m. and midnight, she said.

“This has been on and off. It started a few years ago, then it stopped, but now it’s started again about two weeks ago,” she said.

The two teens also curse at her, she said.

They call me ‘whore’ and other names. They say, ‘We’ll get you.’ ”

She said Simon moved into a second home he owns around the corner but regularly shows up to spy on her.

“The judge told him to move out,” she said. “He does what he wants. This is a multimillionaire.”

Simon Taub told The Post that he had not moved out — that he lives there with his son, Marvin, and almost never sees Chana, to whom he was married for 27 years.

Chana “acts like Alice in Wonderland. Everything is dreams and stupid nonsense,” he said.

Nobody believes her. Who bangs on the wall? It’s too thick to bang. It’s double Sheetrock, wood and glass. To bang on this wall, you need a hammer,” he said.

A judge has ordered the home sold and the proceeds divided, but Chana appealed that decision.

“It’s time for the wall to come down,” Greenberg said. “He doesn’t live there any more, and there’s an escalating pattern of harassment. It’s only a matter of time before someone ends up dead.”
