Sean Young was released from the Hollywood Police Department early Monday morning.
Actress Sean Young went from mugging with celebrities to posing for a mug shot after a scuffle with security outside a star-studded Oscars after-party.
The “Blade Runner” actress, who has a history of outlandish behavior and alcohol abuse, later claimed she was manhandled and deserved an apology.
"I just want everyone to know that I was sober (and) extremely well behaved when a very stupid security guard went postal on me,” she wrote on Facebook after her Monday morning release from jail.
“The Academy's very stupid lawyer recommended a ‘private person's arrest,’ and I have grounds for a lawsuit against the Academy, although I believe a public apology to me would be much better,” she said.
Young claimed she was the injured party in the red carpet ruckus, never mind that she's the one who got booked.
(Police) very carefully and kindly photographed the bruises on my arms, which this guard is responsible for doing,” she wrote.
Young, who famously tried to crash the super-VIP Vanity Fair Oscars party in 2006, was taken into custody shortly after the awards telecast ended and as the Academy’s glamorous Governors Ball was kicking off at the same complex, police said.
“It was for misdemeanor battery,” Officer Wendy Reyes, a spokeswoman with the Los Angeles Police Department, told the Daily News. “She was placed under a private person’s arrest (at the Hollywood & Highland Center), booked at Hollywood station for battery and released.”
Young, 52, posted $20,000 bail and was sprung at 2:55 a.m., according to the jail website.
The “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective” star strode out of lockup in a long black gown and fur and said she was standing outside the party’s cord when the alleged incident took place.
She identified by name the Academy lawyer who allegedly ordered her removal and said “Shame on you,” referring to the lawyer, in an interview with TMZ.
Governors Ball security had ordered Young to leave the party’s entrance after learning she didn’t have a ticket, TMZ said.
She left but later returned, and the ugly incident turned violent when she slapped a security guard who placed a hand on her arm, TMZ reported.
Young already had been photographed smiling alongside invited A-list celebs including Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Sandra Bullock.
The volatile ’80s vixen made a bizarre appearance on David Letterman’s show in October fishing for acting work.
She wore a Catwoman suit and yelled “I’m not crazy” to random people in a video segment poking fun at her reputation as a loose cannon and shameless self-promoter.
She previously donned a similar suit to beg for the Catwoman role in Tim Burton’s 1992 movie “Batman Returns” – a part that eventually went to Michelle Pfeiffer.
Young was booted from the Directors Guild awards in 2008 after heckling director Julian Schnabel. She subsequently entered rehab.
