CROWN HEIGHTS - Cops & suspected bandits shoot it out in Brooklyn, but no one is hit

Cops and robbers got into a shoot-out in Brooklyn Wednesday night, but no one was hit, police said.

Two suspects were arrested afterward.

The incident unfolded about 11:35 p.m. on Montgomery St. between New York and Brooklyn avenues in Crown Heights.

Anti-crime officers from the 71st Precinct who were seeking a suspect in a Bedford Ave. bodega robbery stopped a silver Nissan Maxima and were fired upon. One officer returned fire and the Maxima, but it collided about 50 feet away with another police car, cops said. Someone in the suspects’ vehicle fired again at cops.

A cop from the second patrol car returned fire, and two suspects were grabbed. A third suspect ran off.

Police recovered a silver handgun at the scene.

Three officers were treated at Kings County Hospital for minor injuries from the accident and one suspect was taken to Brookdale for injuries sustained in a scuffle with the cops.
